How to live for God

The Gospel:

Gospel means the good news! God has a standard for us to live life and we've all fallen short (sinned) and broken that relationship. The good news is that there is a way by which ALL people may be restored to Him. God sent His son to restore our relationship to Him and to have eternal life thru turning to Him in faith! He offers forgiveness and a new life in His Kingdom. God provides a way for salvation (deliverance from sin and it's consequences) for people through the gift of His son to the world because He paid the price of death for us as a sacrifice for our sin (going against God). His son, Jesus Christ, was then resurrected to life and offers a share in His triumph to all who will accept it. The gospel is good news because it is a gift of God by faith in Jesus Christ, not something that you have to earn by penance or by self-improvement (John 3:16; Romans 5:8-11; II Corinthians 5:14-19: Titus 2:11-14).

Talk to God and say a prayer something like this:

I want to turn from the way I've been living life and live life your way. I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again to life. Please forgive me for going against you. I invite Jesus to become the savior and Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me and guide me. I know you have a good plan and purpose for me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Next Steps:

1. Start reading the Bible. There are many translations. I find the Amplified the easiest to understand.

2. Attend a loving, life building church that teaches God's word.

3. Get connected with other Christians who can help you on your journey.

4. Get water baptized!
